Germán Valenzuela Basterrica

Germán Valenzuela Basterrica was the director of the dentistry school, who after study medicine was sent by the government to Paris to specialize in dentistry. Where this country was shaken for a diplomatic problem: "the Beckert crime", which was solved thanks to Doctor Germán Valenzuela when he checked the teeth and found that they did not have the treatments that Beckert had received, in fact, the dead man's teeth were healthy. Solving this crime made it possible to reposition the Nation's name in the international level.

After this, Doctor Germán Valenzuela received his dental degree and in Chile he was appointed as director of the dental school of Chile. This fact is considered as the first step of contemporary dentistry in our country.

I admire him because by solving this famous crime, in addition to becoming director, he asked to build a building for the dental school and demonstrated the importance of dentistry in legal investigations.
